Advancing Energy LTD is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
As a small UK-based business operating primarily through desktop-based activities from a home office environment, we recognise our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact and support the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy. We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions through responsible energy management, sustainable travel practices, and continual environmental improvement.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline Year: 2025/26
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any carbon reduction initiatives.
The baseline has been calculated using available operational data and recognised UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors.

Scope 1 Emissions
Scope 1 emissions arise from the direct consumption of natural gas used to heat the home office space. The office occupies approximately one-eighth of the residential property from which the business operates.
Scope 2 Emissions
Scope 2 emissions relate to purchased electricity used for business activities, including desktop computers, monitors, networking equipment, office lighting, and associated technology.
Scope 3 Emissions
Relevant Scope 3 emissions include:
Business travel by car
Purchased goods and services
Waste generated in operations
Cloud-based and digital services
Information technology equipment
Business travel currently represents the largest source of emissions within the organisation.

Reporting Methodology
The emissions reported above are based on:
Limited company structure.
Three employees.
Home-based office operation.
Monthly electricity expenditure of approximately £150.
Desktop computer usage averaging six hours per day.
Gas-fired central heating system.
Office occupancy equivalent to approximately 12.5% of the residential property.
Approximately 20,000 miles of annual business travel by car.
Calculations have been completed using reasonable operational estimates and recognised UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors where direct consumption data is unavailable.

The Company operates without dedicated commercial premises, reducing emissions associated with office buildings, utilities, and employee commuting.

The business operates predominantly through digital systems including:

Online communication platforms
This significantly reduces paper consumption and associated environmental impacts.
Energy Efficiency Measures
The Company has implemented:
Power-saving settings on all desktop computers and monitors

Efficient use of office equipment
Remote Communication
Video conferencing and online collaboration tools are used wherever practical to reduce the need for face-to-face meetings and unnecessary travel.
Planned Carbon Reduction Measures
Renewable Electricity Procurement
The Company will seek to transition to a renewable electricity tariff where commercially viable and available from its energy provider.
Travel Emissions Reduction
As business travel represents the largest source of emissions, the Company will:
Increase the use of virtual meetings and remote collaboration.
Reduce unnecessary journeys through improved scheduling and route planning.
Combine multiple meetings into single journeys where possible.
Monitor annual mileage and travel emissions.
Evaluate hybrid and electric vehicle options during future vehicle replacement cycles.
Sustainable Procurement
The Company will:
Purchase energy-efficient IT equipment.
Extend the useful life of existing equipment through maintenance and repair.
Consider environmental credentials when selecting suppliers.
Purchase durable products with recognised environmental certifications where appropriate.
Digital Sustainability
The Company will continue to:
Reduce unnecessary data storage.
Remove duplicate files.
Optimise cloud storage requirements.
Promote efficient digital working practices.
Monitoring and Reporting
The Company will:
Review annual electricity and gas consumption.
Monitor business travel mileage.
Review emissions performance annually.
Update this Carbon Reduction Plan each year.
Identify further opportunities for emissions reductions.
Governance
Responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of this Carbon Reduction Plan rests with the Company Director.
The Director will:
Review emissions data annually.
Monitor progress against reduction targets.
Identify and approve carbon reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental reporting requirements.
Communicate environmental objectives throughout the organisation.
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the UK Government Environmental Reporting Guidelines.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Company's senior management.
